ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Preview: Introduction


The ICC Champions Trophy, which takes place in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates is quick approaching. Eight groups will battle it towards one another to win one among cricket’s best prizes. This would be the first ICC occasion to be held in Pakistan for the reason that 1996 50-over World Cup, which Sri Lanka received.

This would be the ninth version of the Champions Trophy, with Australia and India profitable it twice. South Africa, West Indies, Pakistan and New Zealand all have one Title.

The match will start on 19 February, with the Last going down in Lahore or Dubai on 9 March.

Venues:

Format

The eight groups shall be cut up into two teams of 4. The hosts will lead group A, which incorporates Bangladesh, India and New Zealand.

Afghanistan, Australia, England, and South Africa shall be featured in Group B.

The highest two sides in every group will contest the semi-finals, with the winners of these video games going through one another within the Last.

New Guidelines

The ICC has made some changes to the principles on this Match.

  • The primary powerplay shall be switched from the primary 10 Overs to the primary 12
  • Groups can even have the choice to implement a “floating powerplay” at any stage between the thirtieth and fortieth overs
  • Tremendous Over will happen if a match ends in a Tie
